Meals and snacks supplied by the operator were not of a quantity and/or quality to meet the daily nutritional needs of the children. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, 7.14, A Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed the weekly menu for the home and it did not include required food groups per meal to ensure proper nutrition. The lunch menu did not include 5 food groups and 3 food groups for breakfast. For example, the food items offered for breakfast today had 2 food groups and lunch was shown as 4 food groups. The specialist and provider discussed options for adding a food group per meal and a copy of the my plate recommendation was emailed to the provider. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.16 Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed the hand washing procedures posted in the restroom of the home used by children did not include situational times of when to wash hands, only how. The specialist advised the provider that procedures for hand washing must include how and when to wash hands. The provider immediately posted an appropriate hand washing sign at time of inspection. TA was provided to ensure that hand washing procedures to include how and when to wash hands are posted near places where food preparation, toileting and diapering take place. The transportation log was not retained for a minimum of 12 months. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 2.4.2 Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed the childrens files and noticed a permission slip for a field trip conducted on 10/21/2025 to a local pumpkin patch at the neighborhood church via walking. The operator confirmed that they took a field trip walking and was not aware that it was considered transportation since they did not utilize a vehicle. The provider also advised that herself her substitute and also a parent of an enrolled child were present for the field trip. The specialist advised the operator that walking is a form of transportation and also taking the children off of the property of the home is a field trip which requires a written transportation log. The specialist also advised the operator that transportation is not approved for her license and if she wants to continue to conduct walking transportation to field trips, she must submit a request to Office of Licensing to add transportation as a service and complete and maintain transportation logs for Licensing to review. TA was provided to ensure that the provider completes and maintain transportation logs for Licensing to review for any field trips conducted using either walking/driving transportation. Required background screening was missing for [ an adult or household members]. 402.313(3) F.S. and FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 4.1 Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist determined that the household member listed on the background screening did not have a current background screening granting eligibility for child care. The household members fingerprints expired as of 8/4/2025 and a new screening is required as well as new fingerprints. TA was provided to ensure that the household member has a current Background screening through the Clearinghouse with an eligible status for child care by the due date. TS was provided to ensure that any individual who is present in the home during business operation hours has a background screening through the Clearinghouse with an eligible status for child care. Compliance Comments TS was provided to ensure that the operator completes 10 hours of in service training by the end of the current Licensing period by 12/15/2025 and records trainings completed on required in service log. Narcotics, alcohol, or other impairing drugs/paraphernalia were accessible to children in care.FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.2, C Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed an opened bottle of alcohol stored in the homes refrigerator on a low shelf on the door of the upright refrigerator/freezer combo in the kitchen. The operator has a baby gate surrounding entrance to the kitchen, however the gate door was observed unlocked and open during time of inspection. At time of inspection the specialist asked the operator to move the bottle of alcohol out of reach of children. The provider threw out the alcohol bottle at time of inspection. TA was provided to ensure that the toxic and hazardous materials are not accessible to children in care. The specialist advised the provider that per the ages of the children present the operator can have a maximum of 6 children preschool age at a time. The specialist advised that the provider is out of ratio and that two children would need to be picked up from the home at time of inspection. The operator advised that two children were leaving the home at time of inspection. Once the two additional children left the home the operator had 6 preschool aged children present ages two through five years old. The provider advised the provider to keep the children away from the area and also to treat the areas to eliminate the red ant piles active on the playground. TS was provided, the provider advised that they have noticed snake holes on the outdoor play areas and have started to treat them but have not spotted any snakes. The equipment was placed on a small area of brick like material surrounded by grass. The provider advised that the outdoor equipment needs a resilient surface added and discussed with the provider approved resilient surfaces and advised that grass is not a resilient surface. The provider encouraged the provider to add at least 6 inches of a resilient surface near the equipment. TA was provided to ensure that the provider adds a resilient surface to the equipment.
