20. Crib Requirements CCF Handbook, Section 3.6 (20-08)

A sleep sack used did not fit according to manufacturers recommendations, restricted the infants arms, or slid up around the infants face. CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.4, B Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed an infant asleep in a crib wrapped in a swaddle that covered the childs arms restricting both the arms and legs. The specialist advised the provider that the swaddle used can not restrict the child. The specialist asked the staff to unwrap the swaddle to free the childs hands at time of inspection. Child care personnel administering medication did not have documentation of education on proper administration procedures. CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, I Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed medication stored in the infant classroom of albuterol for a breathing treatment. The specialist determined that the provider did not have documented training for the administration of the medicine for the child. The specialist advised that documentation of education on the proper administration procedures for administering the medication is needed to administer the medication for the individual child. A medication, [epinephrin injection ], brought to the center for administration, was not in its original container. CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, C Comments: At the time of inspection, Licensing Specialist observed the for a child in care not inside its original container with medication name, contact information of the physician and/or pharmacy, childs name, name of medication, and medication direction. Technical assistance was provided that Prescription and non-prescription medication brought to the child care facility by the custodial parent or legal guardian must be in the original container. Prescription medication must have a label stating the name and contact information of the physician and/or pharmacy, childs name, name of the medication, and medication directions. All prescription and non-prescription medication must be dispensed according to written directions on the prescription label or printed manufacturers label and maintained at the appropriate temperature. 23. Fire Drills & Emergency Preparedness CCF Handbook, Section 3.8 (23-02)

The facility did not have a current and approved annual fire safety inspection by the local fire authority. CCF Handbook, Section 3.8.2, A Comments: At the time of inspection, Provider failed to have an approved annual fire inspection completed by the local fire authority. The facility had a fire inspection completed on 10/7/24 and completed last year on 10/2/23. Technical assistance was provided to ensure that fire inspection is completed annually. This standard was brought back into compliance when fire inspection was completed. • Fire drills conducted 1/29/24, 2/22/24, 3/21/24, 4/29/24, 5/23/24, and 11/11/24. • A fire drill was conducted today in the presence of the licensing authority. • Fire extinguisher serviced September 2024. • Technical assistance was provided to ensure that emergency preparedness drills (lock down and inclement weather) are conducted prior to current licensing expiring. • The facility is closed for the season and the Child Care Personnel returned prior to the Children returning to care at the end of October. • FOOD AND NUTRITION Source: FL DCF CARES inspection 2024-11-18.
