Equipment in the outdoor space needs repair. Indoor/Outdoor Space [SR] Comments: During this inspection it was noted that the sandbox had collapsed and the bottom had fallen out. An area(s) of the facility was observed to not be in good repair. Facility/Storage [SR] Comments: During a previous complaint inspection the facility was required to send proof that the City of Pompano code enforcement had given them permission to use the infants room . During this revisit temporary repairs had been made to the room but proof of approval to use the room had not been sent to CCLE and therefore the facility could not use the infant room. To solve this, the infants are sharing the one year old room and were found in ration with 2 infants and 1 teacher and 10 one year old with 2 teachers. The facility will need to provide CCLE with written notice from code enforcement when the room is approved for use. This inspection report was first issued on 1/14/25 and revised on 1/17/25. Sec. 402.305(4)(a), Florida Statutes: Minimum standards for the care of children in a licensed child care facility as established by rule of the department must include: 1. For children from birth through 1 year of age, there must be one child care personnel for every four children. 2. For children 1 year of age or older, but under 2 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every six children. 3. For children 2 years of age or older, but under 3 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every 11 children. 4. For children 3 years of age or older, but under 4 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every 15 children. 5. For children 4 years of age or older, but under 5 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every 20 children. 6. For children 5 years of age or older, there must be one child care personnel for every 25 children. A ratio of [4] child care personnel for [15] children is required. A ratio of [3] child care personnel for [15] children was observed. Ratios/Discipline [SR] Comments: During the course of a complaint inspection the following was observed; The mixed group of infants and 1y/o was out of ratio. The ratio was 3 staff to 15 children. A fourth teacher was brought into the room during my inspection. The director stated that she was the fourth person in the room. TA was provided that ratios must be maintained at all times and the director does not count if she is not in the room at all times. 08. Facility/Storage [SR] Comments: CCLE was notified that the infant room had to be moved as the bay that houses the infant room has been deemed unsafe by the City of Pompano Beach. A complaint inspection was conducted on 12/16/2024 and a statement from the Director was received. Per the director, On December 5th she had to contact the fire department because of smoke that was coming from the office. The fire department did a walkthrough of the facility and noticed a large crack on the wooded board that supports the second floor above the infant room. They advised that the infant room not be used until it is approved by the city. The week of 12/6/ 2024, the owner had someone install 3 columns in the infant room. That is a temporary fix. This weekend, 12/14/2024-12/15/2024, the owner of the building would have someone do the permanent fix. The director stated that the inspector, Mr. Olsen approved the temporary fix until they pull the permits and make the necessary repairs. She stated that they can use the infant room again. The director was advised to send me proof that the city inspector said that the room can be used. The proof has not been received as of yet(12/18/2024), therefore, the room should not be used until proof is received. The allegation is deemed substantiated. 11.
