   The facility did not obtain written authorization prior to administering emergency non-prescription medication. CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, D and K (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Health Requirements [SR] Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed in the infant, (5 children), and (10 one-year-old classrooms), two containers non- prescription medications. The operator advised that both creams were used for multiple children when needed, which was provided by the facility. The Operator advised that there are forms signed by parents in the children's files. The Licensing Specialist observed that the forms do not state the child's name, only the parents name. The Operator has been given until 9/14/25 to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 6.5 Medication A-E : Childcare programs are not required to give medication; however, if a program chooses to do so, it must comply with the following requirements: A. The child care program must have written authorization from the custodial parent or legal guardian to give prescription and non- prescription medications. This authorization must be dated and signed by the custodial parent or legal guardian and contain the childs name; the name of the medication to be given; and date, time and amount of the correct dosage to be given. Prescription and non- prescription medications that are used on an as needed basis require the parent/ legal guardian to provide additional documentation on the authorization form to describe symptoms that would require the medication to be given. The child care Operator must never administer a medication that is prescribed for one child to another child. B. Any known allergies to medication or special restrictions must also be documented, maintained in the childs file, shared with child care personnel and posted with the childs stored medication. C. Prescription and non-prescription medication brought to the child care facility by the custodial parent or legal guardian must be in the original container. Prescription medication must have a label stating the name and contact information of the physician and/or pharmacy, childs name, name of the medication, and medication directions. All prescription and non-prescription medication must be dispensed according to written directions on the prescription label or printed manufacturers label and maintained at the appropriate temperature. D. In the event of an emergency, non-prescription medication that is not brought in by the parent or legal guardian can be dispensed only if the program has written permission from the parent or legal guardian to do so. E. Any medication given under these conditions must be documented in the childs file, and the custodial parent or legal guardian must be notified on the day of occurrence.    Medication which had expired or is no longer being administered was not discarded or returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian. CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, H (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Health Requirements [SR] Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that there was one prescription medication and one non-prescription medication expired, and no longer being administered to the children at the time of the inspection. 1 medication expired 1/2022 and 1 non-prescription medication expired 3/2024. The Operator has been given a due date of 9/14/2025 to come into compliance with this standard. The Operator discarded the non-prescription medication that was purchased by the facility. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, H Medication. H.
