   The bedding available was not sanitary and poses a threat to the health, safety or well-being of a child in care. CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.1 (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed 6 mattresses available for children in care that were not covered with an impermeable surface in the infant classroom. This standard was brought back into compliance in that the mattresses were replaced during the inspection. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.1: Bedding and Linens: Each child in care must be provided safe and sanitary bedding to be used when napping or sleeping. Nap bedding is not required for school-age children; however, the program must provide an area for children that choose to rest. A. Sleep bedding includes beds, cribs, or mattresses. Air and foam mattresses are prohibited. B. If children are sleeping overnight in the facility, childcare personnel must ensure accepted bedtime routines are practiced, such as brushing teeth and washing face and hands. 1. Toothbrushes, towels, and wash cloths may not be shared. 2. Toothbrushes must be stored so that they cannot touch each other. C. Nap bedding includes sleep bedding, cots, playpens, play yards or floor mats. Air and foam mattresses are prohibited. D. Floor mats must be at least one-inch thick and covered with an impermeable surface. E. Bedding must be appropriate for the childs size. F. Linens, if used, must be washed at least once a week and more often if soiled or dirty. Linens used by more than one child must be washed in between usage. Linens must be provided when children are sleeping, and pillows and blankets must be available. For children under the age of one, please follow the requirements outlined in section 3.6.4. G. Bedding and linens, when not in use, must be stored in a sanitary manner which prevents the spread of germs or lice from other linens. All bedding and linens must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at least once a week, and before use by another child. H. Bedding and linens shall not be stored in the bathroom, unless stored in cabinets. I. No double or multi-deck cribs, cots, or beds may be used. 19.    Medication which had expired or is no longer being administered was not discarded or returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian. CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, H (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Health Requirements [SR] Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed a non-prescription diaper cream which expired 10/2024 was not discarded or returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian in the one-year-old classroom. This standard has been brought back into compliance in that the Operator discarded the non-prescription diaper cream during the inspection. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, H: Medication: Childcare programs are not required to give medication; however, if a program chooses to do so, it must comply with the following requirements: H. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored 22 of the 22 employee records. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed the current in-service training (7/1/24-6/30/25) for all childcare personnel.
