15. Outdoor Time, Fencing, and Play Area Requirements FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.6 (15-01)

Outdoor play areas were not free from litter, nails, glass, and other hazards. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.6, A Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed hazards on the play area in that there 3 plants with sharp thrones on the edges. The plants were within childrens reach. One plant was located in a pot to the left of the screen door that leads to the playground. One play was located to the right of the shed, the last plant was to the left of the white vinyl fence directly across from the home. The Operator has been given until 6/29/2026 to come into compliance with this standard. 29. Communicable Disease Control FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.23 (29-11)

The home does not have documentation for all child care personnel on the required annual refresher education of the homes exposure plan. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.23 Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed the home does not have documentation for all child care personnel on the required annual refresher education of the homes exposure plan. This standard has been brought back into compliance in that the substitute completed the training during the inspection. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.23: Communicable Disease Control: There are three common modes of transmission for the spread of microorganisms in child care settings: contact, droplet, and airborne. Many common infections encountered in the child care setting are transmitted by direct or indirect contact. Child care providers shall develop a written exposure plan regarding universal safety precautions, recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to follow in the event there is exposure to blood and potentially infectious fluids. Personnel are required to be educated on the homes exposure plan regarding standard precautions before beginning to work and annually thereafter. Written documentation that child care personnel have participated in the homes annual refresher education for the exposure plan, and understand the proper procedures in the event there is exposure to blood and potentially infectious fluids must be retained for 12 months and be available for licensing to review. 06. Employee and Substitute Requirements FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 3 (06-07)

The operator failed to report changes to the written substitute plan within five working days. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 3.2,C Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that the operator had a new substitute, and the operator had not informed the office of licensing. This standard was brought into compliance during the inspection in the operator informed the licensing specialist that they had a new substitute. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 3.2 C Substitute C: Any changes to the plan must be reported to the licensing office within 5 working days. All hours worked by the substitute must be documented in writing and maintained for 12 months. Compliance Comments During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that the Family Day Care Homes Clearinghouse Employee/Contractor Roster was current. The Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance during the inspection reminding the operator that all individuals involved, owner, employee, substitute, and household members records must in the files on site for Licensing Authority to review. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 4.1 R: Background Screening R: CF Form 1649A, Child Care Attestation of Good Moral Character, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7)(a), F.A.C., must be completed at the time of initial screening or upon change in employers, or in accordance with the local licensing agency compliance and must be maintained in the Departments licensing file. The outdoor play area that required fencing was not safe and adequate in that [it had a gap larger than 3 1/2 inches]. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.6, F Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that the fence around the play area had a gap larger than 3 1/2 inches. The gap is measured at 11 1/2 inches. The area is on the right side of the play area, towards the front of the house. The gap has palm tree palm trees to the left of the fence. During the inspection, pictures were taken. This standard is being given until May 29, 2025 to come into compliance. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 7.6 Outdoor Time, Fencing and Play Area Requirements F: Fencing, including gates, must be continuous, and shall not have opening or gaps larger than 3 1/2 inches that would allow children to exit the outdoor play area. The bottom or base of the fence must remain at ground level and free from erosion or buildup to prevent inside or outside access by children or animals.
