    12. Facility Environment CCF Handbook, Section 3.1 (12-03)

A health deficiency having a low potential for harm to the children in care was observed. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1 Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed medium sized pom pom balls mixed into a sensory bin with other plastic items in the two years old classroom. The specialist advised the provider that the pom pom balls size can be a potential choking hazard. The provider removed all of the pom pom balls at time of inspection. TA was provided to ensure that items that can potentially be a health hazard like choking are eliminated and not accessible to children of that age group. The provider immediately wrote in enrollment dates on the childrens files and was encouraged to go through all childrens files to ensure the enrollment date is recorded on file. The provider also advised that they have a form with important information for each child that was stored with teachers that the provider is planning to make copies and also store in the childrens files. TA was provided to ensure that the enrollment date is recorded on file for all enrolled children. Compliance Comments Specialist reviewed all 23 staff files.
