The facility had a capacity of [28] based on 35 square feet and [40 ] children were observed in care. SACCF Handbook, Section 3.4.2, C Physical Environment [SR] Comments: At the time of reinspection, the Licensing specialist observed a classroom in the facility used by the children in care that was licensed for a capacity of 28 children but 40 children and two staff were observed. The specialist advised the provider that the facility is over ratio and the provider replied that she knew and has been trying to figure out a solution due to her enrollment being more than the classroom capacity which was approved by the public school. The specialist encouraged the provider to utilize outdoor approved tables with covering until the program has access to the cafeteria after the public schools dismissal. The provider stated she understood and will utilize outdoor tables to check in half of children, typically older grades prior to snack. The children were observed leaving the classroom at time of inspection into the hallway to line up for snack. The younger children returned to the classroom to have snack and the older children had snack at the outdoor tables and the provider advised that they will go to the cafeteria for the remainder of the day. The provider advised that summer session ends this Friday and will reopen once school starts but during the school year children are offered lunch and snacks provider through the school board.
