Parent permission for special occasion food consumption was not maintained for a minimum of 12 months from the date of each activity. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.3, E.3. Food and Nutrition [SR] Comments: At the of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed the facility conducting a special occasion event celebrating Easter/Spring with donated store bought food items, beverages and desserts but the facility failed to have parent permission slips for children in care to participate in the special occasion event with food consumption. The specialist and provider discussed this standard in detail and the provider stated they understood and all questions were answered. The provider created a form for parent permission to participate in food related activities and sent out the form to parents using electronic app and asked parents to return via email. TA was provided to ensure that parent permission is granted as well as notice of an event including food consumption prior to the event to ensure permission is given for children in care to participate. At the time of the inspection, the provider stated that all children receive a meal and snack from the facility and do not order food from any outside source including pizza. The shelf on top of the canned food had chemicals, disinfectants and aerosols stored. The specialist advised that chemicals cannot be stored on top of food items. The provider immediately moved the canned food items from under the chemicals at time of inspection. The hot water side alone does not have water. The specialist advised the sink needs to measure to at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit. An area(s) of the facility was observed to not be in good repair. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A Physical Environment [SR] Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed the diapering surface on the wall of the two year old classroom loose on the wall. The surface was secured to the wall with screws but it was loose and needed to be tightened. Also, the specialist observed a couple of areas throughout the facility with wet like stained ceiling tiles. The provider immediately replaced the ceiling tiles in the areas needed at time of inspection. The provider also tightened the diapering surface onto the wall at time of inspection. Child Care Personnel was hired on 9/22/24 and was supposed to complete sleep safety on or before 10/22/24. Technical assistance was provided to ensure that Child Care Personnel shall be trained on safe sleep, at each facility they are employed, within 30 days of date of hire.
