CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.2, E (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Comments: 24-22: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed opened packages of food (pretzels, cheez-its, cheddar chips, and graham cracker sticks) that were not sealed closed. 33. Training Requirements CCF Handbook, Section 4 [SR] (33-06)

The facility did not have documentation to show completion of a Department approved five-hour early literacy and language development course for child care personnel within 12 months of date of employment in child care industry and/or the early literacy course documentation was not uploaded in the Florida Pathways/Registry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.2 and 4.5, C (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Comments: During the time of inspection, the Owner/Operator/Director advised the Licensing Specialist that there 20 employees. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored 20 of the 20 employee records. Counselor reviewed 10 hours of annual in-service, completed, for all child care personnel for the 2024/2025 fiscal year. REMINDER: In-service training for 2025/2026 fiscal year must be completed before July 1, 2026. 33-6: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed 1 child care personnel that did not complete the 5 hour early literacy training within 12 months of their child care industry date. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.2 Pursuant to Section 402.305(2) (e)5., F.S., all child care personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. Early literacy training must be completed within 12 months of date of employment in the child care industry. Proof of completion may be documented on a certificate of course completion, classroom transcript, or diploma. Child care personnel must complete one of the following: A. One of the Departments online literacy courses available on the Departments website. B. One of the Departments approved literacy courses. A list of these courses can be obtained from the Departments website. (No additional courses will be approved by the Department.) C. (Section 3.1 and 3.2 Training Requirements, Page 7) Comments: 33-13: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed 17 child care personnel that did not complete the School Readiness Pre- Service training. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, Child care personnel must successfully complete the preservice training coursework described in this section, as applicable. All child care personnel must complete these preservice training requirements within 90 days of initial employment with any School Readiness provider. This timeframe does not start over if personnel change employment to another School Readiness provider within this initial 90 days. Personnel who have not completed all preservice training requirements are not allowed any unsupervised contact with or care of children in a School Readiness program. Medication which had expired or is no longer being administered was not discarded or returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian. CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, H Comments: 40-17: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed that there were 2 diaper creams that were expired. During the inspection, staff discarded the diaper creams. This is being marked corrected at the time of the inspection. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, C Prescription and non- prescription medication brought to the child care facility by the custodial parent or legal guardian must be in the original container. Prescription medication must have a label stating the name and contact information of the physician and/or pharmacy, childs name, name of the medication, and medication directions. All prescription and non-prescription medication must be dispensed according to written directions on the prescription label or printed manufacturers label and maintained at the appropriate temperature. 34. Credentialed Staff CCF Handbook, Section 4.6 & 4.7 (34-01)

The facility was required to have at least [4] credentialed child care personnel and had [3] credentialed child care personnel CCF Handbook, Section 4.6.1, B Comments: 34-1: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed that the facility was required to have at least 4 credentialed child care personnel on-site and there was only 3 credentialed child care personnel on-site. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, Handbook, Section 4.6.1, B A. Child care facilities with 19 or fewer children or that operate less than eight hours per week are not subject to the staff credential requirement. B. For every 20 children, a child care facility must have one child care personnel who meets the staff credential requirement. Based on this formula, child care facilities with 20-39 children must have one credentialed child care personnel, facilities with 40-59 children must have two credentialed child care personnel, and so on. The licensing authority will calculate the number of credentialed personnel required based on daily attendance. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS Compliance Comments REMINDER: There are three common modes of transmission for the spread of microorganisms in child care settings: contact, droplet, and airborne. Many common infections encountered in the child care setting are transmitted by direct or indirect contact. Child care facilities shall develop a written exposure plan regarding universal safety precautions, recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to follow in the event there is exposure to blood and potentially infectious fluids. Personnel are required to be educated on the facility's exposure plan regarding standard precautions before beginning to work and annually thereafter. Written documentation that child care personnel have participated in the facility's annual refresher education for the exposure plan and understand the proper procedures in the event there is exposure to blood, and potentially infectious fluids must be retained for 12 months and be available for licensing to review (CCF Handbook, p. 53).
