The facility did not have documentation to show completion of a Department approved five-hour early literacy and language development course for child care personnel within 12 months of date of employment in child care industry and/or the early literacy course documentation was not uploaded in the Florida Pathways/Registry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.2 and 4.5, C (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Comments: Licensing Specialist (LS) observed that the individual listed on the supplemental page that started in the industry on 9/8/2022 did not complete the Department approved-five hour early literacy and language development course for child care personnel within 12 months of date of employment in child care industry. The LS provided technical assistance (TA) to the director explaining that training must be completed within 12 months from the day employment begins in the child care industry. Medication which had expired or is no longer being administered was not discarded or returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian. CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, H (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Health Requirements [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection, the Provider advised the Licensing Specialist that they do dispense medication to the children that are in care. Licensing Specialist inspected the medicine. Each medicine was in its original container with childs name on it and locked in cabinet not accessible to children. Licensing Specialist observed that a medication for the child listed on the supplemental page showed on the label that it had to be discarded after 2/11/2026 (Picture was taken). Ta was giving to the director explaining that all prescription medication must be dispensed according to written directions on the prescription label. The director contacted the parent and the parent will be providing a new medication, placing this standard back in compliance. RECORD KEEPING 41. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During this onsite inspection the Licensing Specialist (LS) observed in Classroom # 8 a missing ceiling tile and a ceiling tile that was also half hanging out (Pictures were taken). In Classroom # 7 there was a ceiling tile that was also half hanging out (Pictures were taken). LS gave technical assistance to the director to please have the tiles replaced by the due date.
