The floor mats available for children in care were not covered with an impermeable surface. CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.1, D Comments: Each child in care must be provided safe and sanitary bedding to be used when napping or sleeping. Nap bedding is not required for school-age children; however, the program must provide an area for children that choose to rest. Floor mats must be at least one inch thick, and covered with an impermeable surface that is cleaned and sanitized or disinfected after each use. Licensing Specialist (LS) observed two torn mats in the three year old room. Technical Assistance was given by Licensing Specialist (LS) to the director explaining that Mats must not be torn or broken. Mats were replaced during this inspection placing this standard back in compliance. Not Monitored Comments Children were not napping at time of inspection. 19. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.1, B Comments: Child care personnel, while working in the food preparation area, must wear proper head covering, such as a hair net or hat. To prevent contact with ready to-eat foods, child care personnel must use clean disposable gloves, utensils, or similar items in the food preparation area. Staff member while working in the food preparation area was not wearing a hair net or hat. TA was given by Licensing Specialist (LS) to director and staff explaining that personnel while working in the food preparation area must wear proper head covering, such as a hair net or hat. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.5, B Comments: Bottles and sippy cups brought from home shall be individually labeled with the childs first and last name and shall be returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian daily. In the 3 year old and VPK room sippy cups brought from home were not labeled or only had a first name. The director was giving TA by the licensing specialist on the requirement for last and first names on cups and bottles brought from home.
