Preparation of food occurred in an area that is not a designated food preparation area. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.1 Food and Nutrition [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored the infants classroom and observed items related with food preparation, water and infants formula were observed and teacher stated she made infants bottles in the classroom. 32. Outdoor Equipment CCF Handbook, Section 3.12 (32-07)

The ground cover or other protective surface under the [ground cover was not 6 inches depth] was not maintained. CCF Handbook, Section 3.12, D Sanitation and Equipment [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored the fall zone and observed that ground cover did not meet the required 6 inches depth. Licensing Specialist utilized the ruler to measure the ground cover around the swing area, and it measured 3 inches depth. According to the CCF Handbook, Section 3.12 Outdoor Equipment D. If the ground cover in place is loose ground cover (such as, but not limited to mulch, shredded rubber chips, or sand) a minimum of 6 inches in depth is required in the use zone. An area(s) of the facility was observed to not be in good repair. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that in the Two Years Old classroom one of the window's edges was broken. In the VPK classroom some of the ceiling titles are broken (at the corners) and the paint of the wall (main entrance on the right) is chipping/peeling off. According to the CCF Handbook, Section 3.1 General Health and Safety Requirements A. All child care facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months. 13. 07. Vehicle Requirements CCF Handbook, Section 2.5.4 (07-06)

The vehicle alarm installed was not in working condition. CCF Handbook, Section 2.5.4 General Requirements [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored (1) vehicle utilized to transport the children that are in care, During the time of the inspection, the vehicle alarm was not in working conditions. According to the CCF Handbook, Section 2.5.4 Vehicle Requirements F. By January 1, 2022, all vehicles used by child care facilities to transport children must be equipped with a reliable alarm system approved by the Department which prompts the driver to inspect the vehicle for children before exiting the vehicle. 1. Approved alarm systems must meet the following criteria: a. The alarm system must be armed or activated automatically when the vehicles ignition is turned on. b. The alarm system must be designed and installed so that the vehicle horn, siren or other type of audio alarm will sound if the driver/staff member does not walk to the rear or, in the case of a passenger van, the side entry point of the vehicle, to manually shut off or deactivate the alarm. c. The time delay from the time the ignition is turned off after activation of the alarm system until the alarm sounds shall be no longer than one minute. d. The alarm must be audible from the distance of 500 feet from the vehicle. e. The alarm system must be installed so that the driver must walk to the back of the vehicle to reach the deactivation mechanism. Deactivation mechanisms installed in locations that do not require the driver to walk to the back of the vehicle and view all seating areas will not be acceptable. The facility did not have documentation to show completion of a Department approved five-hour early literacy and language development course for child care personnel within 12 months of date of employment in child care industry and/or the early literacy course documentation was not uploaded in the Florida Pathways/Registry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.2 and 4.5, C (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Comments: During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that one childcare personnel did not complete the approved five-hour early literacy training within 12 months of hired. The Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance. According to the CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.2 Early Literacy Training Pursuant to Section 402.305(2)(e)5., F.S., all child care personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. Early literacy training must be completed within 12 months of date of employment in the child care industry.
