Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month did not complete the 40 hour Introductory Child Care Training requirement. CCF Handbook Section 4.2.1 (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Comments: During the time of the renewal inspection Licensing Specialist observed that childcare personnel did not complete the 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training requirement. According to the DCF Handbook Section 4.2.1 Mandated Introductory Training Childcare personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of childcare training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Childcare personnel who successfully completed the mandatory 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training prior to January 1, 2004, are not required to fulfill the competency examination requirement. A. Part I Courses (30 Hours) Childcare personnel must complete all of the following: ? Child Care Facility Rules and Regulations ? Health, Safety and Nutrition ? Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect ? Child Growth and Development ? Behavioral Observation and Screening B. The facility did not have documentation to show child care personnel had begun the introductory training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.1 (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Comments: During the time of the renewal inspection Licensing Specialist observed that childcare personnel had not begun the introductory training within 90 days of employment in the childcare industry, According to the DCF Handbook Section 4.1 Beginning Training Childcare personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the childcare industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the childcare industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the childcare industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the childcare industry in any licensed Florida childcare facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a department-approved training course, beginning a department-approved online childcare training course, or by receiving results from a department-approved competency examination. Child care personnel, who were not in compliance with preservice training requirements when they left a School Readiness provider, did not complete required training and any new mandated training prior to employment with a School Readiness provider. (Section 3.4.B Training Requirements, Page 7) [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection Licensing observed those childcare personnel did not complete preservice training requirements prior to unsupervised contact with or care of children or, if supervised, within 90 days of beginning employment or service with the provider. According to the School Readiness Handbook Section 3.2 Training Courses1. Licensed School Readiness providers must complete, and any other School Readiness provider type may complete, the DCF-approved online or in-person child care training courses as evidenced by successful completion of the competency examination offered by DCF or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Information on training course access and availability can be found on the Department of Children and Families website at www.myflfamilies.com/childcare or by contacting the DCF Child Care Training Information Center toll free at 1-888-352-2842. These courses include: ? Health, Safety and Nutrition; ? Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect; ? Child Growth and Development; and ? Behavioral Observation and Screening. Additionally, providers who completed this DCF training on or before December 31, 2023, must also complete these DEL-approved health and safety modules within 180 days or by June 30, 2024: ? Health and Nutrition in the School Readiness Program and ? Safety Practices in the School Readiness Program. Child care personnel failed to share the accident/incident form with the custodial parent/ legal guardian or the individual authorized to pick up child on the day that the incident occurred. CCF Handbook, Section 6.4, B & D Health Requirements [SR] Comments: During the time of the compliant licensing was advise that the incident report was documented after the child and parent had left the facility. According to the DCF Handbook Section 6.4. B,D Accident/Incident Notification B. This documentation must be shared with the custodial parent or legal guardian on the date of occurrence. D. The documentation must be maintained for 12 months. If the parent or legal guardian does not pick up the child on the date of occurrence of the accident or incident, the individual authorized to pick up the child must sign and be provided a copy of the accident/incident form. Documentation must include the name of the affected party, date and time of the occurrence, description of the occurrence, actions taken and by whom, and appropriate signatures of program child care personnel and the custodial parent or legal guardian. The drivers personnel record did not include [ An annual physical examination which grants medical approval to drive]. CCF Handbook, Section 7.4, E (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) General Requirements [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection the Licensing Specialist observed that the driver's physical was expired. This was resolved at the time of the inspection. According to DCF Handbook Section 2.5.1 Driver Requirements: B. An annual physical examination which grants medical approval to drive, and valid certificate(s) of course completion for first aid training and pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedures. Licensing specialist observed the driver had driven after her physical was expired by looking at van logs with her signature between the dates of 10/09/23 - 11/19/24.
