Food and Nutrition [SR] Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed both the upright freezer/refrigerator combos as well as the white deep freezer with the thermometers reading 20 degrees Fahrenheit. The specialist advised the provider that the temperature should read 0 degrees or below in a freezer. The provider placed new thermometers in the units at time of inspection however, the temperature did not meet the required freezing temperatures at time of inspection. CCF Handbook, Section 6.4, B & D Health Requirements [SR] Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed a couple of recent childrens incident reflecting that the parents signed the reports after the date of the incident. On report 1 the incident occurred on 2/27/2026, the parent signed on 3/4/2026. On report 2 the incident occurred on 4/30/2026, the parent signed on 5/1/2026. The specialist reminded the provider that parents/authorized pick up personnel must be notified the same day of the event an incident occurred. TA was provided to ensure that the incident form is shared with parents/authorized pick ups on the date the incident occurs, parents should sign and date the form and facility must maintain forms on file.    All reading, painting and other close work areas did not have lighting equivalent to 50 foot candles on the work surface. CCF Handbook, Section 3.3.1, B Physical Environment [SR] Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed the VPK classroom on the right hand side with children completing close work activities to include art project and reading books with the lighting measuring below 50 foot candles. The provider and specialist discussed at the initial inspection the table arrangement for lighting purposes and technical support was provided. The provider stated that she understood but ELC had the facility to complete a classroom rearrangement with a different set up. At time of inspection, the tables were moved to ensure proper lighting for close work completed by children in care. The table areas were remeasured at time of inspection and measured to over 50 foot candles. The specialist suggested adding temporary lighting such as lamps near the tables to add more lighting until permanent fixtures are added to the classrooms if the provider would like a specific set up of the classroom as encouraged by ELC.
