In the PreK room, children were observed to use hand sanitizer prior to eating snack and did not wash their hands with soap and water. Requirement: A staff person shall ensure that a child's hands are washed before meals and snacks, after toileting and after being diapered. Inside Room 8, the stairwell emergency exit door was blocked by cabinets placed directly in front of it, preventing the door from being opened from within the classroom. On the hallway side: When viewed from the hallway, the same exit door was also visibly blocked by cabinets directly in front of the door, it could not be opened from the hallway side either. Requirement: Stairways, hallways, exits from rooms, exits from the facility and other means of egress serving as an exit shall be unobstructed. Correction: The fire marshal will review the building and determing if 2 means of egress are needed. The letter will be kept on file. If two means of egress are needed, all furniture, shelving, cabinetry, etc will be removed and the doors will be accessible and clear of any obstructions. Inspection: Renewal. Correction: The ripped cushions were removed from the childcare space and disposed of.
