It was observed in the Four/Five year-old classroom, a Glade Plug-in plugged into an outlet accessible to children. It was also observed in the Four/Five year-old classroom a bag of Miracle Grow potting soil labeled "keep out of reach of children" sitting on the floor accessible to children. Requirement: Cleaning materials and other toxic materials shall be kept in an area or container that is locked or made inaccessible to children. Correction: Glade plug-in was immediately removed and covered with an safety cover at time of inspection. Bag of potting soil was moved to an area out of reach of children at time of inspection. Toxics shall be stored away from food, food preparation areas and child care spaces. Correction: The Magic Erasers in both the 4/5 year old room and infant rooms were removed. Magic erasers are now stored in original packaging or labeled in a container and are stored out of reach of children and away from food preparation areas. Inspection: Renewal. The thermometer in the refrigerator in the toddler 1 classroom indicated a temperature of 60° F. Requirement: A facility shall have an operable, clean refrigerator used to store potentially hazardous foods. The refrigerator shall be capable of maintaining food at 45° F or below. An operating thermometer shall be placed in the refrigerator. Correction: Day of inspection the thermometer was replaced by another one and temperature was reading 42 at end of the day. It was observed in the infant classroom that a written plan of daily activities was not posted in the child care space. It was observed in the Toddler 1 classroom that staff were not appropriately utilizing the hands-free covered trash can by using their hands to open and close the trash receptacle when discarding soiled diapers due to the hands-free covered trash having an inoperable lid. Requirement: If disposable diapers are provided by a parent or by a facility, a soiled diaper shall be discarded by immediately placing the diaper into a plastic-lined, hands-free covered can. A toxic Golden Pothos plant (aka Devil's Ivy) was found in the Pre-K room during the inspection. (The plant was immediately removed from the room during the inspection.) In the Young Pre-School room, the ceiling support beams, around the ceiling fans, were covered with dust. In the one years old's room, certification rep observed that the lighting was too dark to properly assess supervision during nap time. Requirement: Rooms, hallways, stairways, outside steps, porches and ramps shall be lighted by artificial or natural light. Children on the facility premises shall be supervised by a staff person at all times. Correction: Staff members will adjust provided blinds in the room to allow in more of the natural lighting, to improve the visibility during rest time. Inspection: Renewal. In the outdoor toddler playground area, the Little Tikes Tree House had a missing window frame on the backside of the structure and this aperture creates a potential head entrapment hazard for children. Requirement: Toys, play equipment and other indoor and outdoor equipment used by the children shall be clean, in good repair and free from rough edges, sharp corners, pinch and crush points, splinters and exposed bolts. Correction: The Litte Tikes Tree House was repaired to prevent head entrapment in the area of the missing window.
