During the licensure year, the operator failed to conduct monthly fire drills utilizing the approved fire alarm system or smoke detector at various dates and times when children are in care. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.21, A Comments: At the time of inspection, Licensing Specialist determined that the Operator failed to conduct monthly fire drills utilizing the approved fire alarm system or smoke detector at various dates and times when children are in care for the months of September 2025 and November 2025. Technical assistance was provided to ensure that fire drills are conducted monthly utilizing approved fire alarm system or smoke detector at various dates and items when children are in care. Fire drills were conducted on 6/23/25, 7/25/25, 8/26/25, 10/27/25, 12/29/25, 1/2/26, 2/3/26, 3/16/26, and 4/8/26. • A fire drill was conducted today in the presence of the licensing authority using the approved smoke alarm that made an audible sound. • Emergency preparedness drills were conducted 6/3/25 (lock down), 1/5/26 (inclement weather), 2/6/26 (lock down), 3/9/26 (inclement weather), and 4/10/26 (lock down). • Source: FL DCF CARES inspection 2026-04-17. Indoor play areas were not inspected daily for basic health and safety and/or any problems were not corrected before the play area is used by children and/or daily inspection documentation was not maintained for 12 months. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7, A Comments: At the time of the inspection, the home did not have a daily indoor/outdoor checklist. A sample daily checklist was reviewed with the provider and a copy emailed on today's date for use going forward. The provider was reminded that indoor and outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log and any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. The home did not maintain documentation that the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of each child were provided information detailing the causes, symptoms, and transmission of the influenza virus annually during the months of August through September in that [the brochures were not distributed between August - September 2025.]. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 8.3, E Comments: At the time of the inspection, the licensing specialist reviewed all 6 childrens files and observed the children listed on the supplemental had missing and/or expired influenza brochures in their file. Technical assistance was given to the provider as a reminder that the influenza brochure must be distributed annually between August 1 and September 30.
