Documentation of Level 2 Clearinghouse screening clearance was missing for child care personnel. CCF Handbook, Section 7.4.1,C (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Record Keeping [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed one staff members background screening during inspection that was missing clearance for "DCF Child Care." The status for DCF Child Care was "Agency Review Required." Licensing Specialist did observe under "DCF General" an eligibility determination date of 1/22/2025, however the status that must have an eligibility status with the date is "DCF Child Care." Licensing Specialist gave technical assistance from the Child Care Facility Handbook: 7.4.1 Background Screening Documents Background screening documentation must be maintained for all child care personnel as defined by Section 402.302(3), F.S., which includes household members if the facility is located in or adjacent to the home of the operator. Background screening documentation must be on-site and available for the licensing authority to review. C. A copy of the eligible results, for the Level 2 screening, generated from the Clearinghouse must be on record for each personnel. If awaiting Out-of-State criminal history results, a copy of the DCF email informing of the individuals eligibility for a provisional hire status must be in the personnel file. Corrective Action: Provider is to submit to Licensing Specialist via e-mail, the documentation showing the submission of the one staff member's agency review being initiated. ***Staff member is not to be present with the program until an eligible background screening clearance status is under "DCF Child Care" with the date is received. Compliance Comments Licensing Specialist gave technical assistance during inspection regarding the daily attendance requirements. Source: FL DCF CARES inspection 2025-05-21.
