    A Large Family Child Care Home may provide care for a maximum of: 1. 8 children from birth to 24 months of age. 2. 12 children with no more than 4 from birth to 24 months of age. There were [12] children observed in care and their ages were [mixed -2 ,3 ,4 and school agers ]. 402.302 (11), F.S., FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 2.2.2 (Section 2.2.3, Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) [SR] Comments: Ratio observed at Time of Inspection Licensing Specialist arrived at the Large Family Day Care Home: Mixed ages 1 staff:12 children 3-2-year-olds 3-4-year-olds 6-school agers The Large Family Day Care Home was not in compliance with ratio requirements when the Licensing Specialist arrived at the home. 2.2.2 Large Family Child Care Home A large family childcare home may provide care for one of the following groups of children, including household children under 13 years of age: A. A maximum of 8 children from birth to 24 months of age. B. A maximum of 12 children, with no more than 4 children under 24 months of age. This standard was not compliant when the Licensing Specialist arrived at the home. This standard was brought back into compliance when employee came back to the home. 02. Child Discipline FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 2.3 FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 2.3 (Form DEL-SR-6200A) Compliance Compliance Comments Per Provider doesnt offer transportation, however provider is going on a field trip where the parents are providing transportation. Licensing Specialist observed permission slips. Prior to transporting children, the home must be approved by the Department to offer transportation services. Transportation services will be approved if the conditions set forth in parts 2.4.1, 2.4.4., 2.4.5., of the Family Day Care Home and Large Family Child Care Home Handbook are met. Pursuant to 402.305(10)4(b), Florida Statutes, child care facilities and large family child care homes are required to install an alarm system in each vehicle used by the home to transport children by January 9, 2022. Alongside the alarm requirements, child care providers are required to continue conducting physical and visual sweeps of the vehicle and maintaining a log.
