Child care personnel, including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month did not complete the required in-service training during the states fiscal year beginning July 1 and ending June Comments: Licensing Specialist observed 3 staff members that did not complete the 10 hours of annual in-service between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025. Licensing Specialist observed that the staff members completed a portion of the hours, however it was less than 10 hours. Licensing Specialist gave technical assistance from the School Readiness Program Health and Safety Standards Handbook: 3.3 Annual In-Service Training Upon successful completion of preservice training requirements, all child care personnel must complete the annual ten (10) clock-hours or one (1) CEU of in-service training concentrating on children ages birth through 12, as required in Rule 65C-22.001(6), F.A.C., Child Care Facility Handbook (October 2021), Rule 65C-22.008(5), F.A.C., School-Age Child Care Facility Handbook (October 2021), or Rule 65C- 20.008(7), F.A.C., Family Day Care Home and Large Family Child Care Home Handbook (October 2021), Rule 6M-4.620, F.A.C., and this handbook, as applicable. A. Child care personnel employed in a licensed or licensed-exempt child care facility or schoolage program must record in-service training on CF-FSP Form 5268, Child Care In-Service Training Record (October 2017), which is incorporated by reference in Rule 65C22.001(7) (i), F.A.C. During the facilitys licensure year, fire drills utilizing the approved alarm system were not conducted monthly at various dates and times when children were in care [in that only 2 fire drills have been conducted between the months of 8/2024 to 4/16/2025.]. Licensing Specialist gave technical assistance from the Child Care Facility Handbook: 3.8.4 Fire Drills A. During the facilitys license year, fire drills utilizing the alarm system, approved by the local fire authority, must be conducted monthly at various dates and times when children are in care. Corrective Action: Provider is to submit to Licensing Specialist the fire drill log with written documentation of a fire drill conducted in the month of April 2025 via e-mail.
