   An unscreened individual was left alone with children in care. s.435.06(2)(a), F.S. and CCF Handbook, Section 5.2, C General Requirements [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed an unscreened staff (named on the supplemental page) alone with 11 children (ages 4 & 5) on the playground. A screened staff came in to the playground placing this standard back in compliance. (Licensing Specialist checked the Clearinghouse and it showed that "A New Screening is Required" a picture of the screen was taken. Technical assistance was provided explaining that individuals subject to Level 2 screening must be cleared prior to licensure, registration, employment , volunteering or fulfilling any other role in a child care program. Staff with no background screening can never be alone with children. Note this violation will trigger a fine. All bedding and linens must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at least once a week, and before use by another child. In the VPK and 3 and 4-year-old room, the blankets were all folded up and stacked one on top of the other and stored that way (Pictures were taken). Please come up with a different plan for linen storage, one in which they do not touch while being stored. LS gave TA to the director explaining that when not in use, linens and bedding must be stored in a sanitary manner which prevents the spread of germs or lice from other linens. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months.
