07. Vehicle Requirements CCF Handbook, Section 2.5.4 (07-03)

A vehicle(s) used to transport children did not have an annual inspection by a mechanic to ensure it was in proper working order. CCF Handbook, Section 2.5.4, A General Requirements [SR] Comments: During the inspection visit the LS observed that the facility didnt have a current vehicle inspection. The vehicle inspection expired on 2/28/2026, technical assistance (TA) was giving to the director explaining that all vehicles must be inspected annually by a mechanic to ensure that they are in proper working order. The director explained that they are not transporting children this week because of spring break. She scheduled an appointment for 3/17/2026 to have the van inspected. During the inspection, the staff responsible advised the Licensing Specialist that there is currently 1 transportation vehicles utilized by the facility when transporting the children that are in care. 2015 Chevrolet Express 2500-3500 Van, VIN #1GAZG1FG2F1237453 is equipped with an alarm system. Inspection was completed on 2/28/2025 and it is currently expired. The transportation vehicle is insured by Progressive Insurance Company with an expiration date of 12/29/2026. Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month did not complete the 40 hour Introductory Child Care Training requirement. CCF Handbook Section 4.2.1 Comments: LS observed that the individual listed on the supplemental page has not completed the Introduction Courses. The LS provided technical assistance (TA) to the director explaining that training must be completed within 12 months from the day employment begins in the child care industry. The facility did not have documentation to show completion of a Department approved five-hour early literacy and language development course for child care personnel within 12 months of date of employment in child care industry and/or the early literacy course documentation was not uploaded in the Florida Pathways/Registry. The personnel/ volunteer (ten hours or more per month) record did not include a CF-FSP 5337 Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Requirements form signed annually. CCF Handbook, Section 7.4, C Record Keeping [SR] Comments: During the inspection visit the LS observed that the staff member listed on the supplemental page did not have a current signed copy in the file. TA was giving to director reminding her that form CF-FSP 5337 Child Abuse and Neglect form must be signed annually. During the time of inspection, the director advised the Licensing Specialist that there are 11 employees. All employee records were monitored during this inspection visit. The facility did not have electrical outlet covers or the outlet covers were not in place. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, I Physical Environment [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed an electrical outlet power strip that was missing outlet covers in the three year old room. Technical assistance was given to the staff and Director. The electrical outlet power strip was removed, placing this standard back in compliance.
