The facilitys storage of harmful items including cleaning supplies, flammable products, and poisonous, toxic and hazardous materials allowed access by children in care. CCF Handbook, Section 3.2, B (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist (LS) observed a pack of wipes labeled keep out of reach of children on a shelf, withing the reach of children in the Room #5 and Room #6 (Picture was taken). Technical Assistance (TA) was given to the director and staff by the LS explaining that these items must always be inaccessible and out of a childs reach. Item was removed and placed out of reach of children by the staff member, placing this standard back in compliance. 14. Cribs, playpens, play yards, other napping and sleeping bedding being used by a child was not placed a minimum of 18 inches away from window blinds, draperies, or any window treatment/cover that could pose a strangulation or suffocation risk. Exit areas were blocked off and inaccessible in an emergency. CCF Handbook, Section 3.8.3 Physical Environment [SR] Comments: LS specialist observed one of the exit doors blocked by a crib (Picture was taken). LS gave TA to the director explaining that exit areas may not be blocked off or inaccessible. The director moved the crib during the inspection visit clearing the emergency exit. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored the Fire Drill Log and observed documentation of the last fire drill having been conducted on 11/10/2025. The last approved fire inspection for this facility was dated 3/3/2025. The fire extinguisher certifications are valid until 12/2025. LS gave TA to the provider to complete and document one inclement weather drill and one lock down drill prior to the expiration of their licensing year. Bottles and/or sippy cups brought from home were not labeled with childs first and last name. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.5, B Food and Nutrition [SR] Comments: Licensing specialist observed in the two-year-old classroom sippy cups brought from home that were not labeled or only had a first name. The staff and director were provided TA by the licensing specialist on the requirement for last and first names on cups and bottles brought from home. The staff responsible then correctly labeled the cups, thus this regulation is marked back into compliance. A medication, [Ventolin HFA], brought to the center for administration, was not in its original container. CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, C Health Requirements [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection, the provider advised the Licensing Specialist they do dispense medication to the children that are in care. Licensing Specialist inspected the medicine. The prescription medication brought to the child care facility by the custodial parent was not in the original container. Licensing Specialist gave technical assistance to director explaining that prescription medication must have a label stating the name and contact information of the physician and/or pharmacy, childs name, name of the medication, and medication directions. All prescription and non-prescription medication must be dispensed according to written directions on the prescription label or printed manufacturers label and maintained at the appropriate temperature.
