Child care personnel inappropriately interacted with children in care in a manner that was aggressive, demeaning or intimidating in nature. CCF Handbook, Section 8.2, C Enforcement [SR] Comments: At the time of the inspection the interviews and video footage revealed the teacher kicked the cot, away from her with the child was standing up on it during naptime while he was already crying. Due to the teacher kicking the cot, the child fell forward and scraped his head on the cot, causing a red scrape on his forehead and leaving mark on it. The facility was advised to ensure staff is not forcefully moving cots while children are on them to avoid inappropriate interaction. To be placed back into compliance, the provider would need to show proof of the staff having an updated background screening before being able to work with the children. Harmful items including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials were accessible to children in care. CCF Handbook, Section 3.2, B Physical Environment [SR] Comments: At the time of the inspection the specialist observed no locking mechanism in the one year class, and a VPK class room. In the unlocked cabinets, the specialist observed chemicals such as Fabuloso and water mixed in a bottle, container of Chlorox wipes, water and bleach in a bottle, and glade air freshener. One of the cabinets was able to be attached to lock, but one remains unlocked. The provider needs to install a lock to prevent the children from having access to the hazards in the cabinet.The provider was given a due date, and has until that time to replace the locks to return to compliance. The specialist observed the wheels on the outdoor coaster cars were cracked, black and blue ride along was observed with a broken handlebar, red push along was missing a wheel, and the red ride along toy was missing wheels. TA was given to the provider to remove and replace old toys by the due date to return to compliance. Extra time is allotted to align the other due dates. The incident reports were provided a days or days later. The parent signed the incident report but not until later. Technical assistance given that incident reports need to be shared on the same day with the parent.
