A safety deficiency having a low potential for harm to the children in care was observed. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1 (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed several cords throughout the facility loose and accessible to children in care. In the breezeway covered area near the employee parking lot the specialist observed a black cord for a camera or speaker that was plugged into a pillar hanging loose wrapped around the pillar. The provider unplugged the cord and wrapped it tightly around the pillar higher out of reach of children at time of inspection. In the infant classroom near the air conditioning unit near the window the specialist observed an electrical outlet strip under the unit accessible to children and a white long cord tucked under a pack n play. Also, the infant swing cord was accessible to children, the specialist advised when it is not being used unplug it and to wrap the cord around the top of the swing. There were two portable fans plugged in near the infant swing not being used with cords also accessible to children. In the school age/multipurpose classrooms the air conditioning cords were also tucked under the units not secured. TA was provided to ensure that all cords are secured in place and not accessible to children to eliminate a potential strangulation/ trip hazard. The provider advised that she treated the mulch with a natural product however the insects are still present inner mixed in the mulch and soil. The provider dug near the stationary equipment of the 4 way seesaw, the airplane and the stationary bikes and the insects were present near all the equipment surrounded by mulch. The specialist observed what seemed to be more of the small insects this inspection. The specialist advised the provider to treat the soil and mulch to eliminate the insects with advisement from a pest control professional.
