An area(s) of the facility was observed to not be in good repair. All rooms did not have sufficient lighting equivalent to 20 foot candles at three feet from the floor. CCF Handbook, Section 3.3.1, A Physical Environment [SR] Comments: At the time of the inspection, the lighting throughout the facility was checked. Multiple light fixtures were observed out/partially working. The rooms measured: In the rear classroom, the lighting measured between 5.03 - 20.3-foot candles. • in the kitchen, the lighting measured between 1.67 - 7.59-foot candles. • Technical assistance was given to the provider to add brighter bulbs, fixtures or additional lighting in the classrooms with brighter lighting to ensure the facility maintains 20-foot candles in all areas. CCF Handbook, Section 3.3.1, B Physical Environment [SR] Comments: At the time of the inspection, the licensing specialist observed the first right classroom, rear classroom and left rear classroom had lighting over the reading/homework/painting or other close work areas that measured between 24.4 - 37.2-foot. Technical assistance was given to the provider to update the lighting with brighter bulbs or add additional lighting to ensure the areas measure a minimum of 50-foot candles prior to the due date. The facilitys outdoor play area contained litter, nails, glass or other hazards that posed a low potential for harm to children. CCF Handbook, Section 3.5, A Physical Environment [SR] Comments: At the time of the inspection, the licensing specialist observed the following: a) multiple active ant piles • b) a pile of rock located near the gate on the inside of the playground • c) a broken clear plastic storage tote for toys that had sharp edges • Technical assistance was given to the provider to treat the ant piles, remove or replace the plastic storage tote and remove or fence off the area with rock so the children cannot access prior to the due date.
