CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.1, G & H (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed that the mats and linen for all the children were stored together and not separated from the mats for each child separately. Corrective action: Per Provider will wash all linen and keep linen separate from mats after use for. Linen will be stored separately for each individual child. 3.6.1 Bedding and Linens Each child in care must be provided safe and sanitary bedding to be used when napping or sleeping. Nap bedding is not required for school-age children; however, the program must provide an area for children that choose to rest. G. Bedding and linens, when not in use, must be stored in a sanitary manner which prevents the spread of germs or lice from other linens. All bedding and linens must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at least once a week, and before use by another child. H. CCF Handbook, Section 3.7, A (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed that the sink in the restroom is too high for the reach of children, therefore the children is needing to stand on a stoop to reach the sink which is causing a small crack from the wall and the sink. Corrective action: Per Provider will have maintenance complete all needed repairs. 3.7 Restrooms and Bath Facilities A. Each childcare facility must provide and maintain bathroom facilities that are easily accessible, and at a height usable by the children. CCF Handbook, Section 2.5.1 (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) General Requirements [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed that facility driver did not have a driver license on file, nor did driver have a driver physical. Technical assistance given. Per Provider will get documentation completed and a copy of driver license today. 2.5 Transportation Childcare providers must comply with minimum health and safety standards to ensure the well-being of children in their care being transported. For the purposes of this section, transportation pertains to travel by foot or in a vehicle that is owned, operated or regularly used by the childcare program, and vehicles used to provide transportation through a contract or agreement with an outside entity. Prior to transporting children, the facility must be approved by the Department to offer transportation services. Transportation services will be approved if the conditions set forth in parts 2.5.1, 2.5.4., 2.5.5., and 4.2.6., of this Handbook are met. Pursuant to the Child Safety Alarm bill in 2021, all vehicles used to transport children by childcare facilities and large family childcare homes must be equipped with a reliable alarm system which prompts the driver to inspect the vehicle for children before exiting the vehicle. 2.5.1 Driver Requirements The driver of any vehicle used by a childcare program to provide transportation must have the following: A. A valid Florida drivers license including the proper endorsement; B. Each toilet and sink must be maintained in good operating condition, cleaned and sanitized or disinfected as needed, but at least once per day.
