   A ratio of [1] child care personnel for [6] children is required. A ratio of [1] child care personnel for [7] children was observed. s.402.305(4), F.S. (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) General Requirements [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed the one-year classroom with 1 staff member and 7 children. The staff member, A.C., was observed playing with the children and had not yet notified management that she was over ratio. The director and the Licensing Specialist entered the room, greeted the teacher and spoke to her for a bit while conducting a child to teacher head count. Per the provider, the staff member usually sends a child next door to the infant room until the 9am staff member comes in on her shift. The provider took one of the children out of the room and placed them in the infant room next door, leaving the one-year-old room with 1 staff member and 6 children. The child taken to the infant room, was placed in a room with 2 staff members and 6 infants. Both classrooms were now in ratio. This was resolved at the time of inspection. The department shall establish by rule those hours of operation, such as during rest periods and transitional periods, when this subsection does not apply. (4) STAFF-TO-CHILDREN RATIO. (a) Minimum standards for the care of children in a licensed child care facility as established by rule of the department must include: 1. For children from birth through 1 year of age, there must be one child care personnel for every four children. 2. For children 1 year of age or older, but under 2 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every six children. 3. For children 2 years of age or older, but under 3 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every 11 children. 4. For children 3 years of age or older, but under 4 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every 15 children. 5. For children 4 years of age or older, but under 5 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every 20 children. 6.
