    04. Supervision CCF Handbook, Section 2.4 (04-29)

Lighting in the facility was inadequate in that [the nap time theater is too dim to adequately supervise the children.]. CCF Handbook, Section 2.4.1, D General Requirements [SR] Comments: Specialist observed the children preparing for naptime at time of inspection. The theater area has two overhead lights that turn off during naptime. On days that the outdoor area is bright, the windows allow a lot of light, but on stormy or cloudy days such as time of inspection, the theater area is very dark during quiet time. When specialist discussed this with J.J, the assistant director, it was suggested that nap time specific lights could be introduced to allow better supervision in the theater during naptime. As safety plan was put into place with the assistant director to assure adequate supervision using the lights in the daycare, and potentially introducing a nightlight system to illuminate the area on darker days. 05.
