27. Catered Food and Food Provided by Outside Sources CCF Handbook, Section 7 & Section 3.9.3 (27-01)

Facility served catered food but did not have a copy of caterers license or permit. CCF Handbook, Section 7, B.15. Comments: Licensing Specialist was informed by the provider that they had just started catering for a few children enrolled in the summer program. This is something new as usually and still most parents pack and provide the children's lunch and snacks. This was resolved when the provider decided to let the parents know there will be no further catering services available. 7 Record Keeping Each of the records described in this section must be maintained at the program location and must be available during the hours of operation for review by the licensing authority: 11. Any child requiring a special diet shall have a copy of the physicians order, a copy of the diet, and a sample meal plan for the special diet as documentation in the childs file for as long as the child is in care. Documentation of physician prescribed automatic feeding device must be in the childs file for as long as the child is in care. Documentation of a physicians authorization permitting solid food to be fed to an infant younger than 4 months or in bottles or infant feeders to children with normal feeding habits must be maintained in the childs file for as long as the child is in care. 12. Documentation of known food allergies (if applicable) must be maintained for as long as the child is in care. 13. Daily meal and snack menus, including meal substitutions must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months. 14. Food Acceptance Log must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months. 15. Copy of license or permit for caterers. 16. If a caterer is used and is responsible for dishwashing food equipment, tableware and utensils used to prepare food, a written agreement must be available for licensing to review. 17. Documentation of emergency care plan, if applicable, must be maintained for as long as the child is in care. 18. Daily indoor inspection log must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months. 33. Training Requirements CCF Handbook, Section 4 (33-01)

Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month did not complete the 40 hour Introductory Child Care Training requirement. CCF Handbook Section 4.2.1 Comments: Licensing Specialist reviewed training transcripts for all active childcare personnel. One childcare personnel, A.S., did not complete the 40 -hour Introductory Child Care Training. Childcare personnel will be given 30 days to complete. Industry start date was 1/19/24. This was not resolved at the time of inspection. 4.2 Training Requirements 4.2.1 Mandated Introductory Training Child care personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of child care training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Child care personnel who successfully completed the mandatory 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training prior to January 1, 2004 are not required to fulfill the competency examination requirement. A. Part I Courses (30 Hours) Child care personnel must complete all of the following: Child Care Facility Rules and Regulations Health, Safety and Nutrition Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Growth and Development Behavioral Observation and Screening B. The facility did not have documentation to show child care personnel had begun the introductory training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.1 Comments: Licensing Specialist reviewed all 21 Employee Records. 1 employee had not begun the introductory training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. Employee: E.W. Industry date: 6/11/24. Started the courses on: 9/21/24. Action Plan: Provider will review all staff records and make notes of upcoming due dates. 4.1 Beginning Training Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination. Medication which had expired or is no longer being administered was not discarded or returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian. CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, H Comments: Licensing Specialist observed a medication which had expired or is no longer being administered was not discarded or returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian. Medication was found in the office, medication storage bin. This was resolved when the provider called the parent to notify them of the expired medication. Parent stated they will pick up the medication at pick up time tonight. Action Plan: Provider has assigned a date for every month in which she will review all medications and ensure they are not expired. 6.5 Medication Child care programs are not required to give medication; however, if a program chooses to do so, it must comply with the following requirements: H. Medication that has expired or that is no longer being dispensed must be returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian or discarded. Child(ren) did not have a Student Health Examination/DH (Form 3040), or an equivalent health statement on file within 30 days of enrollment. CCF Handbook, Section 7.2, C Comments: Licensing Specialist reviewed all 90 Student Health Examinations. 5 children did not have a Student Health Examination, or an equivalent health statement on file within 30 days of enrollment. Provider called each parent and told them they are not allowed to return until updated records are provided. 7.2 Student Health Records The child care facility is responsible for obtaining for each child in care a current, complete and properly executed Student Health Examination form DH 3040, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7)(q), F.A.C. and may be obtained from the local county health department, the parent or legal guardian, or a signed statement by authorized professionals that indicate the results of the components of the Student Health Examination form are included in the health examination. C. If the custodial parents or legal guardians fail to provide the documentation required above within 30 days of enrollment, the facility shall not allow the child to remain in the program.
