Areas of the facility were found to be in need of cleaning. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A Comments: Licensing Specialist observed an excessive amount of clutter in 3 of the classrooms along with a ladder and other tools that was covered with a blue tarp. Technical assistance was provided. 3 Physical Environment Children are much more susceptible to the adverse effects of environmental factors, materials and toxicants. It is imperative that the child care environment is conducive to the healthy development of children. 3.1 General Health and Safety Requirements A. All childcare facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months. The play equipment was not maintained in a safe or sanitary condition for the children to use in that [visibly unclean and unsanitized.]. CCF Handbook, Section 3.12, B and F Comments: Licensing Specialist observed that the play equipment was unclean and un-sanitized with dirt and mold on play equipment. Technical Assistance provided. 3.12 Outdoor Equipment B. All playground equipment must be securely anchored, unless portable or stationary by design, in good repair, maintained in safe and sanitary condition, and placed to ensure safe use by the children. Maintenance must include inspections conducted every month of all supports above and below the ground and of all connectors and moving parts. Documentation of maintenance inspections must be maintained for 12 months. F. All equipment used in the outdoor play area must be constructed and maintained according to manufacturers recommendations and allow for water drainage.
