CCF Handbook, Section 3.12, B and F (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Sanitation and Equipment [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed a play equipment that included a slide. The plastic slide was damaged in the middle making it unsafe for children to slide down. Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance from the handbook: 3.5 Outdoor Play Area D. Children must not come into contact with any surface or equipment which poses a burn risk. Corrective action: Provider must provide a safe play equipment environment for the children.     All child care personnel who completed DCF training did not complete additional DEL-approved health and safety training by required date. (Section 3.2.A.1. and 3.2.C Training Requirements, Page 7) [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist reviewed personnel records and found an employee missing the 2 mandatory courses from the School Readiness program. Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance from the handbook: The School Readiness handbook states the following: Required Health and Safety Training Due June 30, 2024 All current personnel who have been employed at an SR-contracted program longer than 90 days must complete two new mandatory health and safety courses by June 30, 2024, through the Florida Early Childhood Professional Development Registry to be compliant with updated health and safety information. These courses are free and may be used towards the 10-hour annual in-service training requirement. Health and Nutrition in the School Readiness Program (4-hour) Safety Practices in the School Readiness Program (5-hour) SR providers must meet all health and safety requirements, including pre-service training and active credentials, in accordance with Rule 6M-4.620, Florida Administrative Code. Child care personnel working in an SR Program must complete Preservice training within 90-days of initial employment with any SR provider. Personnel are only allowed supervised contact with or care of children in an SR program after they have completed all Preservice training requirements Corrective Action: Employee must complete the 2 courses via due date.
