Mixed Age Level (3270.52)

During renewal inspection on 11/13/24, Cert Rep observed the following: Staff # 5 and # 6 walked out of the combined older toddler/preschool room leaving Staff # 7 out of ratio with 7 children Requirement: When children are grouped in mixed age levels, the age of the youngest child in the group determines the staff: child ratio and maximum group size in accordance with the requirements in § 3270.51 (relating to similar age level). The required staff: child ratios must be maintained at all times. Correction: Ratios will be maintained at all times. A staff meeting will be scheduled promptly to provide training on appropriate child supervision practices. Staff will be instructed on the importance of maintaining constant supervision in the classroom. They will be reminded not to leave the room unless absolutely necessary and only when proper supervision (ratio) is in place.
