It was observed, in the Young Toddler room, that there was not sufficient lighting during naptime, interfering with proper supervision. Outdoor play space used by the facility is considered part of the facility premises. It was observed in the Discovery Preschool (2 yrs) that there were googly eyes (smaller than 1" diameter) accessible to children in a bottom drawer near classroom sink (corrected during inspection). Requirement: Toys and objects with a diameter of less than 1 inch, objects with removable parts that have a diameter of less than 1 inch, plastic bags and styrofoam objects may not be accessible to children who are still placing objects in their mouths. Peeling paint was observed in a few locations at the facility. In the Preschool bathroom, the wall between the toilets had dispersed peeling paint on both sides, along the bottom. In the Discovery Preschool room, there was peeling paint on the wall to the right of the sink (edge of wall above floor molding and approximately 6" up the wall). In the Young Toddler classroom, peeling paint was observed on the wall to the left of the washer/dryer (about 5" up from bottom, three 1-2" spots). Requirement: Peeled or damaged paint or damaged plaster is not permitted on indoor or outdoor surfaces in the child care facility. Correction: There is no longer peeling paint in the preschool bathrooms, the Discovery Preschool, and in the Young Toddler classrooms. Inspection: Renewal.
