Personnel shouting in a child's face: The teacher was taken out of the classroom and suspended for two days. The director and the assistant director talked with her about the reasons for the suspension, and she was told that she would not be permitted to be alone in the classroom until approved by licensing. A staff meeting was held immediately, during which everyone was updated on the situation. I am increasing my classroom visits, reminding the staff about inappropriate disciplinary actions, such as shouting at a child and using harsh language. To avoid similar incidents in the future, teachers are encouraged to call the front office to step out of the classroom for a breather, and longer breaks have been made available.
