   Correction order — Rule(s) 75-03-10-18.10 - The operator shall ensure that potential hazards, such as noncovered electrical outlets, guns, household cleaning chemicals, uninsulated wires, medicines, and poisonous plants are not accessible to children. The

   Evidence of violation: A staff member had dropped an iron pill on the floor on 9/10/25 while cleaning out her personal bag and was not aware of it. A child found the pill on 9/11/25 on the floor and put the pill in their mouth. The child was found by a staff actively playing with a blue coloring around the childs mouth possibly from drool or the coating from the pill. The child did not swallow as it was found on the floor. Method of correction: Ensure that all medications and items that may be harmful to children are out of reach of children. Create a staff policy that is added to the handbook that addresses storage of personal medications along with appropriate storage and access to personal belongings that may be accessible to children in care. A staff meeting or notification of this policy to all staff to ensure they are aware of this new policy. Please submit the policy along with how and when the program will notify staff of the updated policy. This can be submitted with the verification of parent notifications of the Correction Order.
