   Correction order — Rule(s) 75-03-10-23 #10 - A staff member or any other adult in or at the child care center may not kick, punch, spank, shake, pinch, bite, roughly handle, strike, mechanically restrain, or physically maltreat a child.

   Evidence of violation: It was found during the investigative process of concerns that staff members have inappropriately handled/lifted children. Method of correction: Do move forward with a staff meeting reminding staff of the proper way to pick up/lift a child. Also, reminding staff that gentle physical guidance must occur and improper handling could result in physical harm, pain or injury.    Correction order — Rule(s) 75-03-10-18. # 4 - The operator shall ensure that the child care center's building, grounds, and equipment are located, cleaned, and maintained to protect the health and safety of children.

   Evidence of violation: It was found during a visit on 2/17/26 that a bottle warmer cord was not inaccessible, the cord was able to be pulled on by a child and caused the bottle warmer with hot water in it to fall. Method of correction: Do move forward with securing the cord to the wall so that it is inaccessible to a child and can't be pulled on. Time allowed for correction: 20 Day.
