   During the visit, the temperature of the water in the portable sink in the infant room was above 120 degreees. Corrective action: On January 28th we turned down the water temperature to medium which gives us a reading of 115/118. To maintain this water temperature we have posted a sign near the lever located on the inside of the door to the sink that explains to keep the lever at medium.. Regulation: All play equipment, fences and structures must be free of entrapment hazards., The licensee must ensure that the physical facilities are safe, clean, in good repair and free from hazards and clutter. The licensee must monitor the environment daily to identify and remove or repair any hazards that may cause injury to children. Exits and evacuation routes must be kept clear of obstructions., Building Inspection. Every program that is not located in a residence and every program that has a licensed capacity of more than 10 children must provide a certificate of inspection from the Department of Public Safety or the local building inspector certifying that the facility complies with the State Building Code (780 CMR). The certificate must indicate the following:, Indoor Space.    7.11(02)(c), 7.11(02)(e) — Health

   One child's inhaler was expired in the school age room. Corrective action: The parent was notified immediately and the child's inhaler has been replaced with an updated inhaler inside of the original box with the label that has the child's name and instructions that are in line with the IHCP and medication form. This inhaler was replaced on 1/31/25 as this is when the pharmacy was able to provide the inhaler.. Regulation: All prescription medications must be in the containers in which they were originally dispensed and with their original labels affixed. Over-the-counter medications must be in the original manufacturer’s packaging., Unless otherwise specified in a child’s individual health care plan, the educator must store all medications out of the reach of children and under proper conditions for sanitation, preservation, security and safety during the time the children are in care and during the transportation of children.    It was observed that the classroom backpack containing three emergency medications was left in the classroom, and the medications were not readily available for a group of toddlers in the gross motor area. Corrective action: The teachers of that classroom have been reminded to take their emergency back pack with them at all times when leaving their classroom. We had this conversation once the licensor left.. Regulation: emergency or life-saving medications, such as asthma inhalers and epinephrine auto-injectors, for any children for whom they have been prescribed; Cited during: Monitoring Visit.
