7.07(14)(b), 7.07(14)(a) — Physical Facility - Indoors

The heater in preschool 2 was loose. The pipe was loose causing the heater to move, it needs to be secured. There was also another piece of the heater near the teachers desk that was loose and could be a risk to children. Corrective action: Pipes have been secured by building owner 12/17/2025. Plumber has been called to review pipe and modify the brackets used to secure.. Regulation: The use of portable heaters and portable radiators is prohibited during child care hours., All steam and hot water pipes and radiators must be protected by permanent screens, guards, insulation or another suitable device that prevents children from coming in contact with them. 7.07(07)(d) — Physical Facility - Outdoors

It was observed that the outdoor space contained hazards, including overflowing debris/trash in an uncovered garbage can, tires and tree stumps located on the blacktop surface, and an excessive amount of materials creating an unsafe environment and limiting the space available for children to play. Corrective action: The playground has been cleaned up and organized, trash removed, and we have purchased a large shed to store equipment. A playground checklist has been created and implemented. Staff were trained on 12//3/2024. Administrator will walk playground weekly to ensure playground is kept safe and child friendly.. Regulation: The outdoor play area must be free from hazards including but not limited to: a busy street, a parking lot, poisonous plants, water hazards, debris, broken glass, chipping, peeling or flaking paint, dangerous machinery or tools, and weather-related and environmental hazards or small objects that could present a choking hazard to young children. Any such hazard must be removed or fenced by a sturdy, permanently installed barrier which is at least four feet high or otherwise protected or removed, as appropriate. 7.11(02)(e), 7.11(02)(c) — Health

An inhaler was expired for one child and an inhaler for another child was not stored in the original container with the label affixed to the box. Corrective action: The inhaler has been replaced by the parents and now includes the original container.. Regulation: Unless otherwise specified in a child’s individual health care plan, the educator must store all medications out of the reach of children and under proper conditions for sanitation, preservation, security and safety during the time the children are in care and during the transportation of children., All prescription medications must be in the containers in which they were originally dispensed and with their original labels affixed.
