   7.07(01), 7.11(07)(h) — Emergency Preparedness

   The program fire drill log did not include documentation of drills after July 2024. Corrective action: The [redacted] came up with a system to remember to document the fire drills that are being conducted.. Regulation: The licensee must ensure that the physical facilities are safe, clean, in good repair and free from hazards and clutter. The licensee must monitor the environment daily to identify and remove or repair any hazards that may cause injury to children. Exits and evacuation routes must be kept clear of obstructions., The educator must hold practice evacuation drills with all groups of children and all educators from each floor level of the approved space at least monthly. Drills must be held during different times of the program day, and must use alternative exits.    On the day of the visit Licensor observed an Educator changing diapers and noticed that the Educator failed to wash the diapering surface with soap and water. The Educator also failed to wash their hands between diaper changes. Another Educator was observed using hand sanitizer in place of proper handwashing with soap and water using friction. Corrective action: Proper hand washing and sanitizing procedures were thoroughly gone over with the staff.. Regulation: The licensee must ensure that educators and children wash their hands with liquid soap and running water, using friction, in accordance with DPH guidelines. Hands must be dried with individual or disposable towels or automatic hand blow-dryers. The use of common towels is prohibited.
