    Please have the following staff member update their expired on-going Health & Safety Training with PATCH. Submit all training certificates (16 hours) to PATCH as soon immediately: XXXXX XXXXX If the health and safety training requirements are not brought current, the aforementioned staff members may be excluded from providing care which may affect your staff-child ratio and staff sequence. Processing time for health and safety training certifications is currently at eight (8) weeks. Please plan accordingly.     HAR §17-892.1-6 — Amended Policies

    §17-892.2-11 Statement of operation policies. (a) (18) Grievances which shall include the department's information for parents to file a complaint. (22) Suspension and expulsion of children. Please send pictures of the amended written policies on Grievances and Expulsion/Suspension when they are posted on the Bulletin Board at Kalihi Kai Head Start. Notes: 1. Child Care Licensing (CCL) Worker R. Miller received copies of the written policies listed above, however, they are separate from the Family Handbook. As such, the polices must be disseminated to the parents/guardians. 2. On 6-16-25, Area Manager XXXXX stated during a telephone conversation with the Worker that the policies were sent to the classroom staff and will be posted on the bulletin board at the site when Summer Break is over and the staff returns to the classroom. 3. Please make sure to send pictures that show both close-ups of the policies and wide angle shots of the bulletin board. Correction: 7-29-25: Child care Licensing (CCL) Worker R. Miller received an email from with a picture attached showing a copy of the Grievance Policy posted on the parent bulletin board. 8-27-25: Worker verified that there is a Suspension/Expulsion Policy posted on page 9 of the HCAP Family Handbook (Revised). A copy has been placed on file.
