    Your policy handbook shall be revised to meet the new requirements of Hawaii Administrative Rules 17-891.2. Please provide a copy of your amended policy handbook and any required forms. We received a copy of your amended written policy. As stated in the email sent to you on 10-7-24, the following items need to be added or modified: --Liability Insurance : #35 in your policy states that you have "Childcare Insurance". Please amend the policy to include that you have "Childcare Liability Insurance". --Suspension and Expulsion Policies: Please add a section in your policies to include suspension and expulsion of children which includes the following: A) The conditions under which a child may be suspended or expelled, if applicable; (B) Sufficient timeframe before suspension or expulsion occurs to enable parents to make alternative child care arrangements or to take the necessary action to allow the child to remain enrolled. (C) Conditions that may warrant immediate expulsion such as imminent danger to the health, welfare, or safety of the children; (D) Parents and guardians are provided written notification of any concerns that could lead to the child's expulsion; and (E) When expulsion occurs, the provider shall maintain a record of the conditions, parental notification, and action taken; --Mandated Reporting: #30 in your policies talks about Reporting incidents of abuse, however, there needs to be more specific language for "Mandated Reporters". Please include a mandated reporting section in your written policies. It should include that you are required by HRS 350 to report suspected child abuse or neglect to Child Welfare Services (CWS) or to the police department. -- Grievances Policy: Please include a grievance policy that informs families that they may contact your licensing unit to file a complaint. In addition, please put instructions as to how to contact our office. Example: Department of Human Services Child Care Licensing Unit I 808-587-5266 (main line) Correction: 12-12-24: Received a copy of an amended Parent handbook. See copy on file. 12-20-24: Reviewed the Parent handbook and it meets the new rules requirements.
