HAR §17-891.2-11 — Other policies

Please update the policy handbook to include: - Medications - Please state you do not administer over the counter medications. - Admission of sick children - please include when can children return, if you are sending children home if sick, and what you will do to prevent spread of contagious disease, including COVID, RSV. - Parental permission for field trips: please state you do not have field trips. Correction: Provider updated policies.

HAR §17-891.2-35 — Caregivers complete 16 hours of training in at least two of the department-approved topic areas within twelve months of the initial training and annually thereafter

Provider stated that training certificates have been sent to PATCH for recording. Once PATCH has recorded 16 hours of trainings, this requirement will be met. Correction: This requirement is met.

HAR §17-891.2-66 — Written disaster plan to cover fire, flood, or natural disaster or other emergencies posted

Please update the written disaster plan for emergencies according to the requirements of 17.891.2-66 (a) to cover emergencies such as fire, flood, or natural disaster or other emergencies, to include written procedures for: (2) Relocation of the child care facility if the facility becomes inhabitable (3) Sheltering in place (4) Lock-down (5) Communication and reunification with families (6) Continuity of operations during and after an emergency (7) Accommodation of infants and toddlers (8) Providing for the needs of children with disabilities and with special needs (9) Providing for the needs of children with chronical medical conditions Correction: Worker received updated the emergency preparedness plan from provider. Meets requirements.

HAR §17-891.1-6 — Policy Handbook

The policy handbook shall be revised to meet the new requirements of Hawaii Administrative Rules 17-891.2. Please provide a copy of the amended policy handbook. The Department enclosed information regarding the new requirements that were originally mailed on May 31, 2024. Correction: It is verified that the provider updated the policy handbook to meet the new rules and requirements.
