HAR §17-896-16 — Staff training, experience, and personal qualifications
§17-896.1-35(d) . . . each caregiver shall complete on-going training appropriate to the age of children the caregiver serves within twelve months from the date the initial training was received and recorded by the department, and then annually thereafter. (1) Each caregiver staff member shall complete at least sixteen hours of department-approved training annually in at least two of the topic areas in subsection (e). *Worker verified that two (2) staff members XXXXX have expired health and safety training. Also, the Health and Safety training period will expire for XXXXX. * We are reminding you that all caregiving staff need at least 16 hours of department approved training on an ANNUAL basis in at least two topic areas and substitutes need at least 10 hours of training. If they do not complete this requirement by July 31, 2025, we will have to exclude these staff members and they will not be able to count towards the staff-child ratio until they do, which may affect your license to operate a Group Child Care Center (GCC). Correction: Health and Safety training for two (2) expired staff members has been updated in HANA.
