    Director to cover all electrical outlets, keep cleaning supplies out of reach of children, repair splinters on the wooden picnic table and wooden platform under storage room on the playground. Correction: The storage platform has been repaired/painted, wooden table has been removed and disposed of, outlets are now covered and cleaning supplies stored out of reach of children.

    HAR §17-892.1-3 — Inspection of facility, activities, records, staff

    On this day, the Worker conducted a licensing visit to MEO UHMC Head Start. It is a stand alone building on the UHMC campus. The preschool uses the classroom and the playground which worker inspected. On August 27, 2025, worker went over the licensing requirements with the director and checked the children's records. Enrolled children of MEO UHMC Head Start has been relocated to MEO Kahului A&B due to suspected mold in the adjoining storage room used by UH Maui College. Director scheduled an inspection to have classroom tested, will submit results and make repairs to the child care space prior to children returning to classroom. Correction: Classroom did not test positive for mold, however, there is moisture behind the walls of the adjoining storage. The children have been transferred to MEO Head Start Kahului A&B until all repairs have been made to MEO Head Start UHMC site.
