    The bedding available was not safe and poses a threat to the health, safety or well-being of a child in care. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.8, A, B and D Comments: During the time of inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed a child sleeping in a crib with a blanket and pillow propped under their head. The Licensing Specialist immediately informed the Provider that a child cannot have any unauthorized items in the crib while napping. The Provider removed the blanket and pillow from the crib. This standard was brought back into compliance at the time of the inspection. Per FDCH/LFDCH Handbook Section 7.8, B Appropriate, Safe and Sanitary Bedding B. All personnel that care for infants must follow safe sleep practices as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) as referenced in Caring for Our Children Basics Health and Safety Foundations for Early Care and Education, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7)(v), F.A.C. Cribs, play yards, and playpens used for infants must have tight fitting sheets and no excess bedding, which includes but is not limited to: bumper pads, hanging mobiles, quilts, comforters, receiving blankets, pillows, stuffed animals and cushions.
