   24. Food Preparation Area CCF Handbook, Section 3.9 (24-09)

   The food preparation area does not have a hand washing station or the hand washing station did not include the following: [water miniumum of 100 degrees fahrenheit.]. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.1, A.7. Food and Nutrition [SR] Comments: During the time of inspection, the licensing specialist and Operations Review Specialist observed the water was not heating up. The water was cold we let the director know it was not heating. We explained the importance of the handwashing station having running hot water the director understood. Provided technical assistance from CCF Handbook Section 3.9.1 A7 7. A separate handwashing station with hot running water, a minimum of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The handwashing station must include a sink with running water and drainage, soap, trash can, and disposable towels or hand-drying machines that are properly installed and maintained. A handwashing sink shall not be used for any purpose other than handwashing. Handwashing stations must include posted signs visible to child care personnel and children demonstrating proper handwashing technique. Portable sinks may not be used for dishwashing or food preparation.    33. Training Requirements CCF Handbook, Section 4 (33-01)

   Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month did not complete the 40 hour Introductory Child Care Training requirement. CCF Handbook Section 4.2.1 Comments: During the time of inspection, as the licensing specialist reviewed staff files noticed a staff member did not complete training within one year of employment. Operations Review Specialist explained the importance of the training to the director, the director understood. Provided technical assistance from the CCF Handbook 4.1, Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination.
