4.1, Handbook: Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. The facility did not have documentation to show child care personnel had begun the introductory training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. Comments: At the time of inspection, [1] personnel had not initiated require training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. As a result of an amendment to Senate Bill 738, all courses to meet the 40-hour introductory training requirement, transportation safety, and safe sleep are free to complete on the DCF training portal. Online exams are not available at this time and shall still be completed in-person until further notice. *Note, this does not replace 'Cribs for Kids' safe sleep training as required by Broward County. A copy of the current and approved annual fire inspection report completed by a certified fire inspector must be on file with the licensing authority. The facility has not been inspected and approved by the local fire department as required. Comments: The elementary school has a current comprehensive safety inspection conducted on 01/06/2025. There are deficiencies indicated on the report, some of which are fire safety related in the classrooms/areas being utilized by the afterschool program (Room 130, Room 157, and Room 302).
