The child care arrangement must provide the local licensing agency with a certificate of insurance evidencing the required coverage at the time of licensure or registration, as applicable, upon renewal, and upon request of the local licensing agency. The child care arrangement or insurer must provide the local licensing agency at least 30 days notice before the expiration or cancellation of the policy. 3.8.5(A) and (B), Handbook: The operator must develop a written emergency preparedness plan that includes, at a minimum, procedures to be taken by the facility during a fire, evacuation, relocation, shelter in place, lockdown, and inclement weather (for example: hurricanes, tropical storms or tornadoes), and to facilitate parent/guardian reunification onsite and offsite. Lockdown and inclement weather drills shall be conducted a minimum of one time each per operating year when children are in care and the documentation of these drills must be maintained for 12 months from the date of the drill. A lockdown or inclement weather drill may substitute for one monthly fire drill. Substitutions for fire drills may not occur more than three times within the licensure year. Documentation of this substitution must be maintained for 12 months from the date of the drill. The facility failed to conduct emergency preparedness drills as required. 3.9.4, Handbook: For facilities that prepare food, non-disposable food equipment, tableware, and utensils utilized for food preparation must be properly cleaned by pre-rinsing or scraping, washing, rinsing, sanitizing, and air drying. If the child care facility lacks adequate dishwashing and sanitation described in this section for dishes, equipment and utensils, only disposable single-use items may be used. All single service items must be discarded after each use. Food equipment, tableware and utensils used to prepare food must be washed and sanitized on-site except when a caterer is used, and the caterer is responsible for dishwashing as evidenced by a written agreement. Non-disposable food equipment, tableware, and utensils utilized for food preparation and food consumption were not properly washed and sanitized on-site. Food Service/Nutrition [SR] Comments: At the time of inspection, licensing monitor observed personnel slicing apples in preparation for lunch, utilizing non-disposable utensils and food equipment. Additionally, it is observed that children in the VPK classroom and the 2yr old classroom are receiving water from a large, orange non-disposable cooler and water pitcher. Technical assistance was previously provided. Provider resolved by removing cooler and pitcher from use. Technical assistance provided that the minimum requirement for sinks in the designated meal preparation area for reusable dishes (including, but not limited to pitchers) is as follows Three sinks (wash sink, rinse sink, handwashing only sink) and a designated sanitation bin, • Four sinks, wash, rinse, sanitize, and handwashing only • Provider has attempted to create a designated and defined meal preparation area, where the meal preparation area is inside of the VPK classroom. Provider has utilized movable carts which are insufficient. Designated meal preparation area must have a stable barrier with a lockable entrance point.
